What is [nio] and how is it different?

The problem with existing terminals is alignment.

They have become notorious for misaligning incentives and underdelivering on their promises. Traders don't share the upside of the value they helped create, only receiving empty promises and excuses in return. Despite many consolidation attempts users are still forced to juggle multiple terminals and fragmented balances to access cutting edge features.

Ownership is the last moat.

Over the years the onchain terminal space has become a lot more efficient. The teams are larger and better funded than ever before, whenever a team comes up with a new feature all the other teams copy it by end of day. Even the most traditionally strong moats like social networks end up getting vamped (fomo vs Axiom/GMGN) and the only remaining moat on the horizon is ownership. Existing players can recreate each other's features, but they can't recreate ownership and change the underlying structure of their businesses.

If you owned a terminal, would you ever trade on a different one given that both have comparable functionality? The overwhelming majority will answer "no". There is something special about ownership in human nature, a home you own feels better compared to the same exact home if you were renting it, and crypto's speculative and reflexive nature only amplifies that.
